Amy Hui-Yi Chu is a Canadian-Chinese artist from Toronto, Canada.

She is currently completing her BFA (Honours) at Queen’s University.

With a focus in painting, her work is impressionistic, using loose brushwork to capture the passing, often overlooked moments of everyday life. By exploring the neglected rhythms of ephemeral time, her works reflect upon the beauty of impermanence.

She also works in drawing and printmaking, engaging in techniques such as intaglio and lithography to explore form, materiality, and the balance of mark-making.

She most recently was a Senior Studio Manager at Children's Art Studio Inc (Toronto), contributing to fostering creativity and early childhood education between the ages of 5-12. She also taught private weekly lessons to young artists between the ages of 12-15. Her experience combines both hands-on studio management and one-on-one instructions, allowing her to nurture artistic growth in children and adolescents engaging in art education.
